Green Heritage Presented at “The Power of Play” Festival in Pesaro
15 October 2025Within the framework of Work Package 4 (WP4), two study visits will be organised in Cáceres, Spain, in November 2025, focusing on the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and good practices in the field of cultural heritage protection and sustainable management. The activities will take place in the Old Town of Cáceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as at the Archaeological Museum of Cáceres (Museo de Cáceres) and its surrounding context.
The first study visit, scheduled for 6–7 November 2025, will focus on exploring the historical, cultural, architectural, and environmental values of the Old Town and the museum, with particular emphasis on community-led heritage initiatives. Participants will be introduced to projects
dedicated to the sustainable management and conservation of cultural heritage, as well as to examples of cooperation between institutions, local organisations, and stakeholders engaged in heritage preservation and urban regeneration.
The second study visit, planned for 13–14 November 2025, will place a strong emphasis on innovative and digital approaches to heritage interpretation and presentation. In addition to visits to the Old Town of Cáceres, the programme includes activities in Valdefuentes (Santa Rita 16), where the potential of the Minecraft methodology will be presented as a contemporary tool for working with archaeological sites and museum content, supporting education, community engagement, and outreach to younger audiences.
Both study visits aim to foster transnational exchange of best practices, strengthen mutual learning among project partners, and contribute to the development of a community of practice based on shared values, experiences, and sustainable approaches to cultural heritage conservation across Europe.
