Mapa das Ideias is a Portuguese company that has been dedicated to audience mediation in the fields of heritage, arts, and science since 1999. Its work spans educational projects, professional training, consultancy, and cultural retail design, all aiming to redefine the relationship between institutions and the public. Through innovative approaches and by incorporating the psychosocial profiles of real audiences, Mapa das Ideias promotes arts and culture as tools for social cohesion, democracy, and justice. The team develops projects that integrate emotions, knowledge, and practices, emphasizing the vital role of cultural institutions in everyday community life. Its consultancy work includes capacity building, research, and partnerships with public and private sectors. In cultural retail, Mapa creates museum shops and merchandise lines that merge commercial potential with deep emotional connections to the visitor experience, maintaining high standards of environmental, economic, and social sustainability. The company also invests in experimental and socially responsible initiatives that foster innovation and knowledge exchange.
Mapa das Ideias has received multiple awards from APOM (Portuguese Association of Museology), including Best Cultural Education and Mediation Project (2011, 2012) and recognition for excellence in cultural marketing and retail (2016, 2018, 2019). Brief Biography:
Catarina Gomes has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures from FLUL, Journalism from Cenjor, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Publishing Studies. She has worked as a television journalist, in the publishing sector and as a non-fiction editor for her own publishing house. She has been working at Mapa since 2021 in the area of communication and project management.
Responsibilities within the Project:
She is currently a project manager, coordinating the company's participation in the Green Heritage project.
Brief Biography:
Graphic designer, illustrator and cultural mediator, with diverse experience in creating educational activities and visual materials. With a degree in Graphic Design from IADE, she specialised in techniques such as screen printing, engraving and motion design.
She worked as a cultural mediator and as coordinator of educational services in museums and in a primary school. She has also collaborated with international institutions such as the National Library of Spain, Les Ateliers Pédagogiques d'Arts Plastiques, and the NGO Casa do Caminho in Brazil, coordinating social and educational projects.
Responsibilities within the Project:
Responsible for aspects of communication and dissemination regarding the Park activities.
