UNESCO Chair of Interpretation and Education for Enhancing Integrated Heritage Approaches is bridging a critical gap in sustainable heritage management by focusing on integrated approaches. The Chair, established at the Faculty of Humanities in August 2021 under the leadership of Dean Prof. dr. Irena Lazar, which will coordinate P5 UP Team during the project, underlines participatory and "values-based" methods that involve communities in achieving sustainable management of both cultural and natural heritage. This integrated perspective is pivotal in advancing GreenHeritage's mission to foster inclusivity and holistic understanding of heritage sites.
Institution’s Role in the GH Project
UP and Unesco Chair will coordinate Work Package 3 development of the GreenHeritage Framework. This begins with an analysis of existing pedagogical methods that bridge environmental education with cultural heritage. Building on these insights, a novel pedagogical framework will be collaboratively developed through workshops at regional, national, and international levels with a variety of stakeholders. The delivery of this framework, along with draft pilot programs for young people, will facilitate immersive learning experiences that resonate with the project's aims.
Notable Achievements
UP has Great scientific expertise in sociological research, pedagogy, cultural heritage management and valorisation; vast expertise in coordination and management of European projects; vast experience and stakeholders network in the cultural heritage sector .
