Wazo Sociedad Cooperativa

Wazo Coop is a non-profit social cooperative that specializes in the protection and valorization of cultural and natural heritage, community-driven actions, youth engagement, education and strategic communication. Through the Creative Cultural Industries and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Wazo Coop generates a positive impact in rural areas.

Since its foundation Wazo Coop has been actively involved in heritage preservation, cultural education, and participatory leadership programs. The cooperative has developed numerous projects focusing on rural heritage, archaeology, and sustainable cultural tourism, ensuring that local communities, especially youth, actively engage in learning experiences about their cultural and natural environment.

Wazo Coop manages two cultural centres: Wazo Co-Space in Almendralejo (rural cultural creative industries hub) and Santa Rita 16 in Valdefuentes (historic building carefully restored and revitalised by Wazo Coop).

Brief Biography:

Expert in heritage and creative cultural industries, she will oversee the project’s implementation, ensuring alignment with its mission and impact goals. She has extensive experience in managing international projects and has led multiple capacity-building programs related to community-led heritage actions.

Responsibilities within the Project:

General project coordinator and main project manager.

Andrea Vincenti

Researcher and Senior Expert

Brief Biography:

Archaeologist and curator of cultural and natural heritage, graduated with honours from the University of Pisa. Specialist in cultural and natural heritage preservation, he will be responsible for research actions and knowledge transfer to ensure the project’s methodologies are evidence-based and aligned project objectives.

José Luis Díaz

Facilitator and Senior Expert

Brief Biography:

Art historian and curator of cultural and natural heritage, graduated with honours from the University of Salamanca. Expert in education and training for community-led heritage actions. He will lead the capacity-building activities and the development of educational tools, ensuring that the project delivers practical and actionable learning resources.
