Study Visits in Cáceres: Innovative Approaches to Sustainable Cultural Heritage Management
16 November 2025In October 2025, the Green Heritage project was presented to the public during the international festival “The Power of Play,” organized by IIDEA, the Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association, in collaboration with Games for Change, the Municipality of Pesaro, and the University of Urbino.
The event brought together experts and institutions from across Europe to explore the potential of video games as tools for social, educational, and cultural impact.
During the panel on the educational value of video games, Marco Vigelini, CEO of Maker Camp, demonstrated how Green Heritage uses Minecraft to promote awareness of European cultural heritage through a sustainability-focused narrative. The project connects heritage, sustainability, and play across four historical sites—Ostia Antica, Viminacium, Isola d’Istria, and Medina Azahara—turning cultural discovery into an interactive learning experience that inspires younger generations and raises environmental awareness through the universal language of gaming.
