Study Visit to Ostia Antica: Sharing Best Practices
26 March 2025Lisbon, March 5-6, 2025
The Green Heritage training event took place in Lisbon on March 5-6, 2025, hosted by Mapa das Ideias. The goal was to foster transnational knowledge exchange and build a community of practice focused on accessibility, gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainability, all through the lens of environmental stewardship and heritage conservation.
The first day focused on Design Thinking methodology, with sessions including a guided visit to the Belém Library, where participants learned about the library’s Green Card Profile—highlighting its environmental, social, and gender-equality initiatives. This was followed by practical activities, such as the Lightning Design Jam (LDJ), which encouraged participants to apply theoretical knowledge in real-time scenarios. A productive “Green Cards Speed Dating” session sparked lively discussions and cross-organizational learning, with partners sharing insights on their roles, community involvement, and use of digital tools.
On the second day, partners reviewed the previous day’s activities, prepared for upcoming steps in the ACED project, and deepened their understanding of Design Thinking and Future Thinking. These methodologies were integrated with practical exercises for youth outreach and stakeholder management.
The training in Lisbon was a major success, creating a solid foundation for future collaboration and innovation, while introducing important new approaches for participants. It marked a significant step forward for the Green Heritage project.
