The Institute of Archaeology hosted a key event at the Viminacium Archaeological Park to present and promote the Green Heritage Pedagogical Framework—an innovative tool designed to connect education, sustainability, and cultural heritage.
The event began with an introduction to the goals of the Green Heritage project, emphasizing the importance of integrating environmental awareness and cultural values into educational practices. The new pedagogical framework was presented as a structured and theory-based approach that supports educators in designing learner-centered and context-sensitive activities.
Participants explored how the framework can be used to create educational content that not only highlights local heritage and environmental issues, but also engages communities and promotes sustainable thinking among students.
A dedicated session brought together local stakeholders, including educators, cultural practitioners, and community representatives, to discuss the role of traditional knowledge, oral histories, and indigenous practices in enriching heritage education.
Through active discussion and exchange, valuable feedback was collected to tailor the framework to local contexts and ensure its long-term relevance. This event marked a significant step toward building stronger connections between schools, communities, and cultural heritage sites through sustainable education.
